Portable Gas Sampling Systems

The APP portable gas sampling probe is especially designed for portable applications where easy handling, safe and reliable operation as well as easy maintenance are required. The low weight and innovative design guarantees a perfect operation in a wide range of conditions for short and medium term mobile measurements.

The probe is heated up to 180°C in order to maintain the sample temperature above acid gases dew point. A filter element of 150mm is integrated, suitable for most applications up to 1g of dust per cubic meter of emissions. Thanks to its design, the filter can be replaced or checked without the need of dismounting the probe. For applications where the dust load reaches 10 g/m³, a blowback option can be fitted. Calibration gas can be injected directly into the probe through the calibration gas port according to emission monitoring standards enforcing test gas feeding via the probe’s filter element.

MAIN FEATURES

  • 180°C operating temperature
  • Integrated over temperature safety switch
  • Low temperature alarm contact
  • Test gas port according to EN14181 available as standard
  • Light weight
  • Ready to operate in 15 minutes
  • Low and Easy maintenance
  • Universal mounting clamp for heated line
  • Compact design and universal applicability, easy handling with mounting eye on housing (2m chain incl.)
  • APP150 Portable heavy duty ABS case for safe transport

The portable gas sample probe APP is a perfect completion to the portable gas conditioning system series APS. Both devices can easily be associated and becomes excellent when used in combination with the sample heated line AHL 205 and its innovative quick lock system ensuring efficient, fast and reliable operations. Suitable sample probe tubes are available in heated and unheated versions depending of the level of moisture and flue gas temperature.

OPTIONS

• Quick lock connector for fast, easy and reliable connection with AHL heated lines

• PFA®-coated barrel/probe head for TRS or wet and corrosive gases application

• Relief valve or solenoid valve for calibration / backflush port

• Backflush port for dust load up to 10g/m³

For mobile laboratory and stack testers, AquaGas recommends the use of the heated lines AHL 205 / 025 specifically dedicated to portable applications. This version of heated line offers the following benefits:

• Black smooth silicon outer cover for the highest flexibility and resistance required by the application
• Integrated Power cable to fed the sample probe APP with power supply eliminating the need of an additional cable run separately.
• Quick-lock female connection cap for fast and reliable connection
• Operating temperature adjustable up to 190C suitable to most of the application

AST 301-302 Heated Sample tube

This electrically heated sample tube is available in 4 standard lengths: 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2.0 meter (other lengths on request). As for all Ankersmid probes, the standard flange is a DN65 PN6. Adapter flanges for most common process connections can be provided if required. If needed, it is possible to affix a non-heating sample probe or pre-filter to the tip of the heated tube.

As standard, an integral thermocouple type J (Fe-CuNi) installed in combination with the digital controller ensures reliable temperature regulation with user programmable set point and alarm.

Available as an option, a 2-way Modbus/ RS485 communication that combines signals from all installed Ankersmid controllers enables digital communication between a network of devices and site supervision.

• Different lengths available • Completely heated sample tube • Digital controller • Easy mounting

APP401-435 Unheated Sample tube

These sample tubes are used in combination with the APP probes in order to sample the gas in the optimal section of the gas-stream. For a typical installation of the probe-tip, a position in the middle third of the gas stream is advised. For dust concentrations higher than 2g/m³, we advise fitting a pre-filter in combination with an extension tube.

AST sample tubes are selected according to specific applications. Influencing process parameters are the gas composition, water vapour saturation, dust loading, process temperature, pressure and the gas velocity. The standard length is typically 1m but other lengths are available on request. Sample tubes/extension tubes with volume displacers are available for applications with low sample gas flow to decrease the retention time.

For gas sampling downstream a wet scrubber with a high content of water the demister tube ADT equipped liquid drop collection prevent from sampling suspended droplets.

The connection thread enables an easy mounting to the gas sample probes APP.

• Used for dust loading up to 2g/m3 • Sampling after wet scrubber up to 90°C • Sampling gases up to max. 1400°C • Different materials available

The APS portable sampling system is designed so that detailed gas analysis can be carried out at any time in any place. The entire sampling system is housed in a compact and robust carrying case which ensures safe transport and easy set-up. All the components can be easily accessed for inspection or routine maintenance. The APS concept allows you to perform gas analysis in an efficient manner, safely and with a minimum of maintenance. This system ensures reliable sample preparation without loss and prevents damage on the downstream analysis system. It is suitable for a large range of applications and has already been adopted by many stack testers around the world.
