The ASI DM-100® CEM Dilution Module has been developed to meet the requirements of some of our more specialised applications, where our standard insitu dilution probe or a rather complex and expensive ex-situ (extractive) dilution system is simply not practical. Whether your primary diluting device is to be used as a stand-alone unit for laboratory applications, integrated within a heated filter system design for CEM Systems (thereby producing a basic ex-situ diluting sampler), or integrated into your ambient level gas analyzer for process monitoring… the DM-100® CEM Dilution Module is a great solution. Originally designed as a second stage diluting unit, downstream of an in-situ or ex situ dilution probe, the DM-100® CEM Dilution Module can also produce extremely high dilution ratios should your application call for it.

DM-100® Critical Orifices

The DM-100® CEM Dilution Module is designed for exsitu gas sampling and environmental monitoring applications, mostly associated with process emissions. These instruments are most commonly used in Smoke Stack CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems), RATA or similar Test Audit Compliance, Process Monitoring, and specialised Laboratory Applications.

The critical orifice determines the constant flow rate at which the precise low flow sample is extracted from the source, as well as the ratio of dilution when configured with a fixed volume of dilution air (in dilution probe or dilution module applications). It may be made from either standard glass (borosilicate), or quartz, and also special metal types (Monel® or Stainless- 316), depending on the sample gas temperatures or properties. The standard glass orifice is used for temperatures up to 750°F (400°C); the special quartz or metal orifice is used for higher temperatures up to 1000°F (540°C).

Continuous Emissions Monitoring

In coal and gas fired power stations, cement kiln, foundry, paper mills… Stringent regulatory requirements for emission monitoring and reporting. The DM-100® CEM Dilution Module enables efficient and flawlessly compliance for a large range of contaminants. The DM-100® CEM Dilution Module can be installed upstream or downstream the Mercury absorber.

Gas Treatment Center

For DeSOx, DeNOx, Scrubbers, catalytic reactors and particulate filters, the DM-100® CEM Dilution Module provides real-time measurement to optimize removal efficiency resulting in significant savings of material and to less maintenance for plant operators.

Large combustion Plants

Large Combustion plants such coal fired power station require a data acquisition and handling system to collect and report the data. SO₂ emissions must be measured in pounds per hour using both an SO₂ pollutant concentration monitor and a volumetric flow monitor. For NO_x, both a NO_x pollutant concentration monitor and a diluent gas monitor are required to determine the emissions rate. NO_x measuring is not a current requirement, however if monitored, a CO₂ or oxygen monitor plus a flow monitor should be used. In monitoring these emissions, the system must be in continuous operation and must be able to sample, analyse, and record data at least every 15 minutes and then averaged hourly.

Governments mandate the installation of continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) at state-controlled key polluting facilities in order to provide direct, real-time, continuous measurements of sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions. Most coal-fired power plants in the world have installed and are operating SO2 and NOx CEMS. As environmental authorities strengthens the SO2 control program and implements rigourous nitrogen oxides (NOx) and carbon dioxide (CO2) control programs, the quality of and confidence in CEMS data will become more important.
