Smart sensors enhance odour control at Paris waste-to-energy plant

Situated in northern Paris, the waste-to-energy plant, named the “L’étoile Verte” or “Green Star” waste recovery facility, started its activity in 1919 in an industrial zone that is now surrounded by residential developments, posing several challenges, particularly related to odour issues.

To address this concern, Ellona has been commissioned to set up an intelligent and continuous monitoring system for odour and gases. This proactive approach aims to pinpoint the sources of odours accurately, enabling the implementation of data-driven improvement measures.
